Frankie Burch
Francis Burch IV (Frankie) has lived in Charles County all his life, until last year, when he bought a house in Colonial Beach, Virginia. "I have been hunting and loving the outdoors ever since I could get out on my own, starting with a bb gun when I was 8, and have grown from there. I started bow hunting with my grandfather, sitting in the stand with him. He gave me his old compound when I was 13 or 14, and I practiced with it all summer long. When fall came that year, I fought long and hard with buck fever before I finally arrowed my first deer. I was hooked! These days, I'm a self admitted, full fledged hunting addict—eating, sleeping, breathing, and dreaming about hunting!"
Robert Fey
Robert Fey grew up in La Plata and graduated from La Plata High School in 1995. He received a B.S. degree in Wildlife Biology from Virginia Tech and currently lives in Annapolis, where he works for a Federal Agency in Maryland, as a wildlife biologist. "I have been hunting since I was old enough to walk, but just began bow hunting in 1999. I primarily hunt private land for deer, turkeys, and waterfowl in Charles, Anne Arundel, and Prince Georges Counties, and sika deer on public land in Dorchester County, Maryland. Bow hunting has really become my passion, and filming hunts really takes it to the next level for me. Filming allows us the opportunity to share our hunts with friends and family and relive some great memories. I'm really excited about this video project, and look forward to great things to come from Whackfactor Outdoors."
Brent Hancock
Brent Hancock is a 21 year old Lineman from Southern Maryland. "I have been hunting since I was very young, and I love being in the outdoors. Hunting is a great way to relax and forget about all of life's troubles for a while. Hopefully through our Whackfactor Outdoors DVDs and website, we will be able to share some of our adventures with the rest of the world."
Doug Hancock
Doug Hancock grew up in Bel Alton on his family farm, hunting every chance he got. "I started rabbit hunting with my dad at an early age. I work long hours as a lineman for a local utility company, but head to the woods every chance I get. I enjoy hunting anything that moves, from ducks and geese, to rabbits and squirrels, to sika and whitetail deer. I am really excited about killing a nice buck this year on film, for all to see!"
Trevor Michaels
Trevor Michaels grew up in Gaithersburg, MD, and graduated from Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC, in 2005. He received a B.S. Degree in Wildlife Science with a minor in Forestry from Virginia Tech and currently lives in Cambridge, MD, on the Eastern Shore. He works for a federal agency in Maryland as a wildlife specialist.
His passion for hunting began at an early age pursuing squirrels and doves with his bb gun in the backyard. These experiences, combined with summers spent at his grandmother's home on the Potomac River in Newburg, MD, (Charles County), fostered a love for everything outdoors, from fishing and crabbing to hunting and trapping. He didn't begin bow hunting until the age of 21, but was immediately addicted, taking eight deer with the bow his first season. All kinds of deer hunting now compete for his attention, from suburban deer hunting in Montgomery County, hunting sika deer in the marshes of Dorchester County, and trying to outwit those elusive monsters on the farms of Charles County. Also an avid turkey hunter, trapper, and fisherman, most days of the year are spent outdoors. Says Trevor, "As a self taught hunter, it is awesome to experience the camaraderie that Whackfactor Outdoors offers and gain wisdom from the outstanding hunters on the team."
Austin Murphy
Austin Murphy's hunting affliction began at the tender age of 4. "Wearing only my tighty whities, I spent many summer mornings stalking tadpoles and lizards on my grandparent's farm overseas. Since then, not much has changed. My choice of hunting clothing has improved a bit, but my passion for outdoor adventure remains the same.
These days I spend every spare moment hunting and fly-fishing. When I'm not hunting deer, turkeys, or waterfowl in Maryland, you can find me chasing wild trout in the Adirondacks or exploring some new corner of the world.
Every time I step outdoors, that excitement I first experienced as a young boy is reignited. I'm definitely looking forward to being part of the brotherhood of Whackfactor Outdoors. It's a blast to share outdoor adventures with folks that have a similar passion for fair chase hunting.
These are exciting times...and so the obsession continues."
Brian Rawlings
Brian Rawlings grew up and lives on a tobacco farm in Newburg, Maryland, and works for SMECO as a lineman. "I'm a firm believer that it is better to be lucky than good any day! I started deer hunting with my father twelve years ago and took my first deer on youth day. I started bow hunting when I was 14, and haven't looked back since... I have enjoyed some amazing hunts, and have killed some great deer, and hope to kill many more, with the Whackfactor Outdoors cameras rolling! Stay Tuned!"
Jeremy Smith
Despite being born and raised inside the Baltimore beltway, Jeremy Smith has been an avid outdoorsman since an early age. His first exposure to hunting, he recalls, was on an Eastern Shore goose hunt when his "passion for hunting was spawned." It was in the late 80's in Kent County, MD, where he and one of his older brothers tagged along with an uncle, then a Chesapeake Bay commercial waterman. This experience triggered an interest and a desire for hunting that could only flourish. From those early-aged squirrel hunts, to small game hunts on his cousin's farm in Frederick County; to countless Eastern Shore goose hunts with his uncle, father, and one of his brothers; to his first deer harvest at age 15 in Harford County; his passion for hunting was firmly rooted and has defined who he is today. Since achieving a B.S. degree in wildlife management from Virginia Tech, he has been employed with a federal agency in Maryland and is currently a Wildlife Biologist. Today he concentrates his pursuit of white-tailed deer with other Whackfactor Outdoors pro-staff throughout the bow, muzzleloader, and shotgun seasons in Charles, Prince George's, and Anne Arundel Counties and sika deer on the lower Eastern Shore during early October. He also enjoys deer hunting in Baltimore, Harford, and Garrett Counties. Goose and duck hunting on both private and public lands in the upper Chesapeake Bay region ties up most of his Saturdays during the late waterfowl seasons. Early September resident goose season has lured him to Garrett County for the past several years. Spring gobbler season will send him to Charles County or to Garrett County in western Maryland.
Chris Swann
"My love for hunting goes back as far as I can remember. I first began pursuing small game, such as squirrels and rabbits with my single barrel .410; I then moved on to waterfowl and deer. One of my greatest memories is getting my first deer with a bow at 13 years old. Since then I have learned different strategies of hunting waterfowl and whitetails. My favorite time of the year is the first and second week in November, which is when mature bucks let their guard down."
Chris Swann is a Pro-Staff member of Whackfactor Outdoors, along with some of his closest family and friends. "We are dedicated to hunting and will begin sharing our experiences with you through our website and videos. I hope you enjoy!"
Jesse Swann
Jesse Swann was raised in Newburg, Maryland, and works for Swann Construction building Custom Homes. His true passion is bow hunting. "I have been avidly bow hunting since I was 14 and have been hooked ever since, tagging along with my older brother, Chris, and watching him take a big doe with his bow. Since then, I have turned into a bow hunting fanatic, with 50+ deer under my belt with the bow. Recently, I have begun to be a little more selective with my deer harvest, as herd management becomes more and more important to the way I hunt. The journey we are taking with Whackfactor Outdoors is a dream come true for me, and I hope our viewers enjoy our hunts as much as we do!"
